The Party’s Over Now

They say the parties over now

The hosts have gone to bed

‘Please, can u keep the music down?’

Was the last thing that they said

I sit amongst the detritus 

Of the laughter and the fun

Waiting in the darkness here

For the rising of the sun

I guess the party’s over now

Everyone has gone away

They climbed into their cars & left

Though I begged for them to stay

They all lay sleeping somewhere 

Pleasant dreams, I wish to send

I guess the party’s over now

The last one up again

Yes, the party’s over now

The day is finally here

Not much to show for the wild side 

But some empty cans of beer

It’s just old Eben Flood & I

Tomorrow tastes of rust

Yes the party’s over now

It all has turned to dust
